Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Housekeeping Supervisor

• Supervise housekeeping staff during their duties.
• Oversee laundry staff's duties and tasks.
• Stock and maintain supply rooms; order supplies within budget constraints.
• Handle guest complaints related to housekeeping services.
• Ensure rooms and common areas are clean and hazard-free.
• Organize staff schedules and conduct daily stand-up meetings.
• Assist guests with questions and basic requests, providing high-quality customer service.
• Coach and train housekeeping staff, including new hires.
• Meet regularly with the hotel manager to report progress and discuss issues.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Understanding of principles behind excellent customer service.
• Effective team management skills.
• Strong organizational skills for timely task completion.
• Basic budgeting skills for managing supplies and equipment.
• Ability to train staff courteously and effectively.

Education and Experience

A high school diploma or GED is required. Previous housekeeping experience is expected. The supervisor performs similar tasks as the staff and work hours typically range from 32 to 40 hours per week, including weekends and holidays, with potential for overtime.
