Job Summary

To supervise, direct, assist, and ensure the completion of housekeeping tasks assigned to Room Attendants, Lobby Attendants, and Housepersons in guest rooms, corridors, and public spaces to maintain Driftwood's high standards of cleanliness.

Essential Job Functions

This description summarizes primary responsibilities and qualifications. It is not intended to include all duties or qualifications that may be required now or in the future. The hotel operates 24/7, so shift days, start times, and hours may vary.

  1. Visually inspect VIP rooms, guest rooms, and corridors for cleanliness and appearance.
  2. Train and monitor the performance of room attendants and housepersons, providing organization, instruction, guidance, communication, counseling, and exercising good judgment. Ensure all tasks are completed within the shift.
  3. Keep carts and linen/supply closets clean, neat, and stocked according to departmental guidelines. Verify VIP supplies are in place during VIP room inspections.
  4. Report maintenance deficiencies in guest rooms and corridors.
  5. Expedite special guest requests, such as extra towels, blankets, or pillows.
  6. Check all vacant, ready, and stay-over rooms daily.
  7. Check out-of-order rooms daily.
  8. Identify showrooms for the Sales Department.
  9. Turn in all lost and found items and guest room keys.
  10. Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  11. Follow safety and security procedures and rules.
  12. Know department fire prevention and emergency procedures.
  13. Utilize protective equipment.
  14. Report unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage, or loss to management.
  15. Create a safe work environment by following all safety and security rules.
  16. Ensure team members maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance, as outlined in the team member handbook.
  17. Perform any related duties as requested by management.
  18. Assist other housekeeping personnel when needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. High School education preferred.
  • Minimum six months supervisory experience or one year of comparable housekeeping experience.
  • Ability to read and write basic English to complete forms such as room status reports.
  • Ability to provide clear direction, instruction, and guidance to subordinates.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and control over subordinates' performance.
  • Ability to answer questions from guests and colleagues.
  • Effective time management skills.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift, reach, bend, stoop, stand, walk continuously, climb stairs, and push or pull heavy equipment.
  • Pushing heavy carts.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds maximum.
  • Stand and walk for varying lengths of time, often long periods.
  • Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling.
