Job summary

Ko’a Kea Hotel & Resort in Hawaii seeks a Housekeeping Supervisor to ensure cleanliness standards for rooms and public spaces, inspect status, and support scheduling and training of room attendants. The role emphasizes guest satisfaction and operational smoothness in a premium resort setting.

Ideal candidates have prior housekeeping supervision experience, can lift 20 pounds, and possess good math and computer skills.

Qualifications

  • High school education preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Room Attendant or Supervisor preferred.
  • Able to lift at least 20 pounds.
  • Able to push, bend, stoop, reach; manual dexterity.
  • Good math and computer skills.
  • Knowledge of local area preferred.
  • CPR and first aid training preferred.
  • Additional language ability preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect rooms and public spaces for cleanliness and maintenance standards.
  • Schedule room attendants, turndown and linen attendants.
  • Provide coaching and training for staff performance.
  • Provide administrative support as needed.
  • May clean rooms, public areas, assist in Laundry and other duties.
  • Maintain hospitable guest relations and respond to guest needs.
  • Ensure all rooms and suites are cleaned daily with checks.
  • Supervise Attendants and ensure items missed are re-cleaned to standards.
  • Report missing items and needed repairs; maintain equipment.

what you will accomplish
  • The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for inspecting rooms and public spaces to ensure compliance with cleanliness and maintenance standards, as well as to verify status of the rooms.
  • The Housekeeping Supervisor assists in scheduling room, turndown and linen attendants.
  • The responsibility of a Housekeeping Supervisor also includes providing feedback, coaching and training for better performance to room attendants and general cleaners.
  • Also provides administrative support for the department as needed.
  • This position may also be required to clean rooms, public areas, assist in Laundry, and any other duty as assigned.
  • Maintain warm, hospitable guest relations in all guest contact.
  • Respond to individual guest needs as they occur.
  • Clean and maintain all assigned rooms and suites daily, including stripping linen, bathroom cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, checking of room lights and equipment, air conditioner unit, television, spot cleaning, and stocking all room supplies.
  • Supervise Room Attendants and Housepersons, including the re-cleaning of any items missed or not cleaned to Ko’a Kea Hotel & Resort cleanliness standards.
  • Report any items missing from rooms and suites.
  • Report all items in need of repair to supervisor and maintain equipment used in work.
  • Protect guest safety and well-being; be courteous to all guests and co-workers.
