Job summary

The Appalachian Mountain Club is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor (Full Time) at Pinkham Notch Visitors Center in Gorham, NH. You will oversee daily housekeeping operations, lead the team, and ensure high standards of cleanliness across the lodge and facilities.

This role requires at least 2 years of housekeeping experience with supervisory responsibilities, exceptional customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate with staff on laundry, inventory, and safety.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of housekeeping experience with 1+ year in a lead role.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in hospitality industry preferred.
• Knowledge of commercial cleaning practices and standards.
• Willing to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Oversee cleanliness and functioning of Joe Dodge Lodge.
• Oversee campus-wide custodial and grounds operations.
• Hands-on leadership: contribute to daily tasks while leading the team.
• Lead, train, schedule, and evaluate housekeeping team.
• Hire new employees as needed.
• Active supervision during shifts with clear communication, direction, and motivation.
• Daily laundry/linen operations.
• Order supplies, maintain equipment, and inventory for housekeeping and custodial areas.
• Collaborate with the General Manager on budgeting priorities for housekeeping and custodial operations.
• Work with Purchasing, Logistics, and Kitchen Staff to support recycling and Clivus programs.
• Participate in organization-wide Working Groups to streamline operations.
• Welcome guests and respond to problems professionally.

Pay range: $35,568.00 – $40,310.00 per year.

Responsibilities

• Overall cleanliness and functioning of Joe Dodge Lodge.
• Oversee campus-wide custodial and grounds operations, supporting the General Manager and Assistant Manager.
• Hands‑on leadership: actively contributing to daily tasks while leading the team and filling in as needed.
• Lead, train, schedule, and evaluate housekeeping team.
• Hire new employees as needed.
• Active supervision during shifts, offering clear communication, direction, and motivation.
• Daily laundry/linen operations.
• Order supplies, maintain equipment, and keep accurate inventory for housekeeping and custodial areas.
• Collaborate with the General Manager to support budgeting priorities for housekeeping and custodial operations, aligning with sustainability goals.
• Work with Purchasing, Logistics, and Kitchen Staff to support on‑site recycling and Clivus programs.
• Participate in organization‑wide Working Groups to streamline, unify and support operations across AMC locations.
• Serve as a welcome presence, assist visitors and guests, responding to problems or special requests professionally.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of housekeeping experience, including a minimum of 1 year in a lead or supervisory role.

Compensation

Salary range: $35,568 – $40,310 per year.
