Job description

We Are Inspired to Serve. Join us!The position will be assigned to the Residential Living level of care with a primary focus on the successful operation of the housekeeping and laundry (linen delivery) in Residential and Assisted Living levels of care. This position cooperates with all other department managers to assure that the needs of the residents are being met and a pleasant working atmosphere is maintained.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise the workflow of housekeeping services identified by the Director of Facilities Management. Supervision of the workflow will include cooperation with other departments such as Activities, Administration, Chaplaincy, Dining and Sales.
  • This position will assign resident client apartments to be clean. Is responsible to clean and coordinate the cleaning of vacant apartments for new move ins and for the Sales Department to show.
  • Coordinate the workflow of laundry services (linen delivery) and bed making as identified by the Director of Facilities Management.
  • Serve as a mentor and coach for personnel in the housekeeping department and assist in their orientation and training. Be supportive of personnel.
  • Provide input to Director of Facilities Management on the performance of housekeeping employees.
  • Inspect and evaluate the condition of resident apartments and public areas making recommendations to the Director of Facilities Management for painting, repairing, furnishing, pest control, etc.
  • Perform periodic audits of housekeeping and laundry services to assure the quality standards and expectations of the facilities are being met.
  • Ensure that all standards established by the governing authorities are strictly adhered to.
  • Maintain the supply inventory levels of housekeeping and laundry ordering as needed within budget guidelines. Monitor costs from suppliers.
  • Maintain records of personal laundry service and charges. Submit charges to accounting monthly.
  • Maintain safety standards within the department. Correct unsafe conditions and practices to the extent possible within the accountability of the position and report all other unsafe conditions to the Director of Facilities Management.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Required Degree: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Preferred Degree: Associate's Degree
  • Certificate(s): N/A
  • Experience: 2+ Years

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals and equipment.
  • Strong leadership, organization and time management skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of the facility's Safety, health and quality standards.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office/community setting.
  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to operate various equipment base on department and weather conditions
  • Engaging in repetitive movements of wrists, hands, and fingers - typing and/or writing.

Clarity of Vision:

  • For near visual acuity Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (i.e., working with small objects or reading small print), including use of computers.
  • For far visual acuity, Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more. This is not just the ability to see a person or object, but the ability to recognize features as well.
  • For peripheral vision, observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point.

Compensation Pay Range:

$17.16 - $20.96

Reasonable Pay Estimate

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $17.16 - $20.96. There are numerous factors taken into consideration in determining the actual offered rate of pay, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and consideration of internal and external equity.
