Job summary

Rainbow Healthcare Community seeks a Housekeeping Supervisor to lead and schedule a team ensuring a clean, comfortable home for residents in long-term care. You will direct, train, and assist with environmental tasks including sweeping, mopping, laundry, and surface disinfection.

The role requires prior supervisory experience, strong English communication, and physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs. Equal opportunity employer.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and schedule a housekeeping team to maintain a clean, comfortable long-term care environment.
• Direct, train, and lead staff; participate in environmental tasks such as floor care, dusting, and laundry.
• Arrange furniture, disinfect surfaces, and ensure resident rooms and common areas are well maintained.
• Perform light administrative duties and communicate with residents' families as needed.

Essential Functionsof Housekeeping Supervisor:

• The Housekeeping Supervisor will oversee and schedule a team responsible for creating a clean and comforting home for residents in long‑term care. In addition to directing, training, and leading the team, the Supervisor will also participate in environmental functions including:

• Sweeping, mopping, and other floor care including spill clean up and regular maintenance.

• Dusting and general pick‑up of common areas.

• Washing windows

• Trash collection

• Shampoo and vacuum carpets.

• Arrange furniture and disinfect surfaces.

• Launder linens for residents.

• Prepare bedding.

• Generally clean furniture, equipment, fixtures, and hardware

• Other duties as assigned

Qualificationsof Housekeeping Supervisor:

• High School Diploma or general equivalency is required

• Prior experience in a supervisor capacity scheduling, training, and leading teams in supporting housekeeping responsibilities is preferred.

• 1 year of experience is preferred

• Candidates must maintain a working email address and phone number for employer communication.

• Ability to communicate in English in writing and verbally in conversation with different levels of staff, patient families and any outside customer

• You may frequently be required to stand and walk for long periods of time. The employee must routinely lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
