Job summary

Rainbow Healthcare Community seeks a compassionate Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee a team delivering clean, safe environments for residents in long-term care. You will train and lead staff, schedule duties, and ensure high standards of cleanliness.

The position involves standard shifts Monday to Friday, 8:30 am–4:00 pm with weekends as needed. Benefits include paid time off, holidays, tuition reimbursement, and retirement options.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prior supervisory experience in housekeeping preferred.
• 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English in writing and verbally with staff and families.
• Must have a working email and phone for employer communication.
• Able to stand/walk for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and schedule a housekeeping team to keep a clean, comforting home for residents.
• Perform floor care, spill cleanup, dusting, window washing, and trash collection.
• Launder linens and prepare bedding for residents; disinfect surfaces.
• Arrange furniture and manage supplies and equipment as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Essential Functions of Housekeeping Supervisor

• The Housekeeping Supervisor will oversee and schedule a team responsible for creating a clean and comforting home for residents in long-term care. In addition to directing, training, and leading the team, the Supervisor will also participate in environmental functions including:
• Sweeping, mopping, and other floor care including spill clean up and regular maintenance.
• Dusting and general pick-up of common areas.
• Washing windows
• Trash collection
• Shampoo and vacuum carpets.
• Arrange furniture and disinfect surfaces.
• Launder linens for residents.
• Prepare bedding.
• Generally clean furniture, equipment, fixtures, and hardware
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications of Housekeeping Supervisor

• High School Diploma or general equivalency is required
• Prior experience in a supervisor capacity scheduling, training, and leading teams in supporting housekeeping responsibilities is preferred.
• 1 year of experience is preferred
• Candidates must maintain a working email address and phone number for employer communication.
• Ability to communicate in English in writing and verbally in conversation with different levels of staff, patient families and any outside customer

• You may frequently be required to stand and walk for long periods of time. The employee must routinely lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
