Job Location: La Quinta Inn Appleton - Appleton, WI

Salary Range: $14.00 - $16.00 Hourly

Description

JOB TITLE: ROOM ATTENDANT

Work Shift: Varies with facility needs; some full-time and part-time positions available.

Breaks: Two breaks and one ½ hour lunch.

Overtime: Seldom required.

Machines Used: Household-type vacuum cleaner.

Tools Used: Mops, brooms, extendable wands, cleaning supplies.

Assistive Devices: Cleaning supply pushcart.

Safety Equipment: Employee uniforms.

Skills & Abilities Required

Speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.

Work Environment

The work occurs at various hotel locations, including guest rooms, bathrooms, lounges, lobbies, landings, elevators, stairways, kitchens, and locker rooms. Surfaces include cement, carpeted, tiled, or wood flooring. Most areas are well-lit and temperature-controlled. Limited exposure to outdoor weather conditions may occur during outdoor cleaning tasks.

Job Responsibilities

The primary responsibility is to clean areas where guests stay or visit. Tasks include transporting linens, replenishing supplies, dusting, polishing, washing windows and walls, emptying waste baskets, vacuuming, and floor maintenance. Additional duties may involve moving furniture, hanging drapery, and rolling carpets, as directed by management.

On a typical day, the Room Attendant will:

• Sort, count, fold, and transport linens.
• Make beds and replenish supplies.
• Clean rooms and common areas.
• Maintain floors and upholstery.
• Clean windows, walls, and woodwork.
• Empty waste baskets and transport trash.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel housekeeping experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Physical ability to push/pull equipment, bend, twist, and stand or walk for extended periods.
• Ability to manipulate objects of various sizes and follow verbal instructions.
• Capable of working independently and managing time efficiently.
