Job summary

Sanctity Hotel Rancho Cucamonga (Hilton Tapestry Collection) seeks a Housekeeping Manager to lead daily housekeeping operations for guest rooms, public areas, laundry, and back-of-house spaces. Ensure cleanliness, safety, and brand standards while maintaining schedules and budgets.

The ideal candidate will supervise staff, assign tasks, inspect work, manage supplies, and collaborate with Front Office and Maintenance to keep rooms ready on time for guests.

Qualifications

  • Previous hotel housekeeping experience is required.
  • At least two years of housekeeping supervisory or management experience is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of room-cleaning, inspections, laundry, linen management, and public-area maintenance.
  • Ability to lead, train, motivate, and hold employees accountable.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced hotel environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with guests, employees, vendors, and hotel leadership.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn the hotel’s property-management, scheduling, and communication systems.
  • Ability to prepare schedules, review labor reports, maintain inventories, and complete departmental documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department, including guest-room cleaning, public-area cleaning, laundry operations, and houseperson responsibilities.
  • Prepare daily room assignments based on occupancy, arrivals, departures, stayovers, special requests, and staffing levels.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate daily priorities, occupancy information, VIP arrivals, group requirements, safety reminders, and operational updates.
  • Inspect guest rooms, suites, public areas, hallways, storage areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure compliance with hotel cleanliness and presentation standards.
  • Ensure vacant, clean rooms are inspected, updated in the hotel’s property-management system, and released to the Front Office on time.
  • Coordinate closely with the Front Office regarding room status, early arrivals, late departures, room changes, special requests, and out-of-order rooms.
  • Report maintenance deficiencies promptly and follow up with the Maintenance Department until repairs are completed.
  • Recruit, train, coach, schedule, supervise, and evaluate housekeeping employees.
  • Monitor employee attendance, punctuality, productivity, uniform standards, grooming, and workplace conduct.
  • Provide ongoing training on cleaning procedures, chemical safety, equipment operation, guest interaction, room-entry procedures, lost-and-found requirements, and workplace safety.
  • Monitor room-cleaning productivity while maintaining quality and preventing employees from being rushed beyond safe and reasonable expectations.
  • Address performance concerns through coaching, retraining, and corrective action in accordance with company policies.
  • Assist with cleaning rooms, public areas, or laundry operations when necessary due to occupancy, staffing shortages, or operational needs.
  • Respond professionally and promptly to guest concerns involving room cleanliness, missing items, amenities, odors, maintenance, or special housekeeping requests.
  • Investigate housekeeping-related complaints, determine appropriate corrective action, and follow up to support guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of linens, towels, guest supplies, cleaning chemicals, uniforms, equipment, and other departmental materials.
  • Order supplies based on approved inventory levels and operational needs while minimizing waste, loss, and unnecessary expenses.
  • Manage linen distribution, collection, storage, par levels, and periodic inventories.
  • Monitor labor hours, overtime, scheduling, supply expenses, and departmental costs in accordance with the approved budget.
  • Ensure cleaning chemicals are labeled, stored, diluted, and used properly in accordance with manufacturer instructions and safety requirements.
  • Maintain Safety Data Sheets and ensure employees have access to required chemical-safety information.
  • Enforce proper use of personal protective equipment and safe operation of vacuums, carts, laundry equipment, and other housekeeping tools.
  • Oversee the hotel’s lost-and-found procedures, including documentation, storage, guest communication, return, and disposal of items.
  • Develop and monitor deep-cleaning, preventive-maintenance, mattress-rotation, carpet-cleaning, and special-project schedules.
  • Participate in daily meetings, department-head meetings, safety meetings, inspections, and other operational meetings as required.
  • Maintain accurate departmental records, including room inspections, cleaning schedules, inventories, training documents, attendance records, and maintenance requests.
  • Support hotel emergency procedures and immediately report safety hazards, suspicious activity, injuries, property damage, or security concerns.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding guests, employees, hotel operations, and company information.
  • Perform other duties and special projects assigned by hotel management.
