Job Description
Chicago Marriott Northwest is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Head Housekeeper to oversee the daily housekeeping operation and lead the housekeeping team in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, service, and guest satisfaction.
The Head Housekeeper will be responsible for supervising housekeeping staff, inspecting guest rooms and public areas, managing supplies, addressing guest concerns, and ensuring that all housekeeping operations are conducted efficiently and in accordance with hotel standards and procedures.
We are looking for a hands‑on leader who is organized, detail‑oriented, dependable, and passionate about delivering exceptional guest service.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, assign, and coordinate daily duties for housekeeping staff.
- Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and other assigned areas to ensure they meet established cleanliness and quality standards.
- Review and assign rooms for immediate cleaning based on occupancy, arrivals, departures, and operational needs.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest complaints or housekeeping‑related concerns and take appropriate corrective action.
- Train, coach, and support housekeeping team members on hotel policies, procedures, cleaning standards, and proper use and maintenance of equipment.
- Monitor housekeeping performance and provide ongoing guidance and feedback to team members.
- Maintain accurate inventory of housekeeping supplies and ensure adequate stock is available for all shifts.
- Prepare supply requirements and coordinate ordering to prevent shortages or operational delays.
- Work closely with the General Manager and Maintenance team to identify and report maintenance issues, damaged equipment, and areas requiring attention.
- Ensure all guest rooms, public areas, and assigned hotel spaces are cleaned and serviced according to established standards.
- Make recommendations to improve housekeeping efficiency, service quality, and overall hotel operations.
- Ensure housekeeping staff have the necessary supplies, equipment, and resources to perform their duties effectively.
- Promote a positive, professional, and team‑oriented work environment.
- Ensure compliance with all hotel policies, procedures, safety requirements, and housekeeping standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Education & Training
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- WHMIS certification preferred/required where applicable.
- Additional housekeeping or hospitality training is an asset.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of housekeeping experience.
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory or management experience in housekeeping or a related hospitality environment.
- Previous hotel experience is strongly preferred.
