Job summary

Journey in Saint Albans, WV, seeks an Environmental Services Supervisor to lead housekeeping and laundry teams in a skilled nursing facility setting. You will hire, train, and evaluate staff, enforce performance standards, and drive improvements in cleanliness and safety.

This role requires strong math skills, infection control knowledge, regulatory awareness, and the ability to manage budgets and procure supplies while partnering with leadership to deliver quality resident care.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least three years of supervisory experience in a skilled nursing facility environment.
• Proficiency in math, including rates, ratios, and percentages.
• Familiarity with infection control techniques.
• Knowledge of regulatory agencies, policies, codes, and standards relevant to environmental services.

Required Qualifications:

• Proficient in mathematical skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, as well as compute rates, ratios, and percentages.

• Knowledge of regulatory agencies, policies, codes, standards, and regulations relevant to environmental services.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership and Development: Hire, train, evaluate, and manage housekeeping and laundry staff, ensuring adherence to performance standards and providing guidance to maximize effectiveness.
• Operational Oversight: Develop cleaning systems and conduct regular inspections to maintain a safe, sanitary environment; manage supply procurement, equipment maintenance, and departmental budgeting.
• Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal health regulations; participate in quality improvement programs and facility committees to enhance environmental services.
