The Housekeeping Inspector ensures that all guest rooms, corridors, and public areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation. This position is primarily focused on detailed inspections to guarantee readiness for guest arrival and to maintain the brand's luxury image. The Inspector also identifies and reports maintenance issues and provides support to Room Attendants as needed.
Primary Inspection Duties
- Perform daily inspections of assigned guest rooms (including VIP and suites) to ensure they are immaculately clean, well-stocked, and guest-ready.
- Inspect public areas and guest corridors for cleanliness, proper signage, and overall presentation.
- Verify that linens are properly placed, amenities are restocked, and room setup follows brand standards.
- Identify cleaning deficiencies or missed tasks and ensure corrective action is taken before room release.
- Document inspection results and report trends to the Director of Housekeeping for quality improvement.
- Submit detailed maintenance work orders for issues such as lighting, plumbing, HVAC, or room furnishings.
- Report urgent or safety-related deficiencies immediately to the Engineering Department.
- Ensure all guest touchpoints (e.g., remote controls, telephones, switches, vanities) are thoroughly sanitized and properly positioned.
- Confirm that turndown service, if applicable, has been completed to standard.
- Inspect housekeeping carts, closets, and storage areas to ensure cleanliness and inventory levels are maintained.
- Assist in training Room Attendants on cleaning standards and proper room setup based on inspection feedback.
Qualifications & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality or housekeeping training preferred.
- Minimum of 6 months experience as a Housekeeping Inspector, or 1+ year in a luxury or full-service hotel housekeeping role.
- Strong knowledge of room cleanliness standards, inspection protocols, and guest presentation expectations.
- Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and follow-through.
- Ability to read and write in English to complete inspection reports and communicate issues clearly.
- Comfortable using housekeeping tracking systems or checklists.
