Job summary

The Metropolitan at The 9 in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Housekeeping Houseman to support the housekeeping team by delivering supplies and keeping public and back-of-house areas organized. You will help Room Attendants and ensure operations run smoothly in a fast-paced hotel.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and a team-oriented mindset, with training provided. Weekend and holiday availability may be required to support hotel occupancy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous housekeeping, hotel, warehouse, janitorial, or hospitality experience is a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests and coworkers.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and variable schedules.

Responsibilities

• Deliver clean linens, towels, and guest room supplies throughout the hotel.
• Collect and transport soiled linens to the laundry areas.
• Stock housekeeping closets and maintain organized supply rooms.
• Assist Room Attendants with lifting, furniture moves, and special requests.
• Remove trash and recycling from guest floors and housekeeping areas.
• Vacuum hallways, elevators, stairwells, and other areas.
• Respond promptly to guest and housekeeping requests.
• Report maintenance concerns or safety hazards to management.

What You'll Do

As a Housekeeping Houseman, you'll support the housekeeping department by delivering supplies, maintaining public and back-of-house areas, and assisting Room Attendants to keep operations running efficiently.

Responsibilities include:

• Deliver clean linens, towels, and guest room supplies throughout the hotel.
• Collect and transport soiled linens to the designated laundry areas.
• Stock housekeeping closets and maintain organized supply rooms.
• Assist Room Attendants with heavy lifting, furniture moves, and special requests.
• Remove trash and recycling from guest floors and housekeeping areas.
• Vacuum hallways, elevators, stairwells, and other assigned areas.
• Respond promptly to guest and housekeeping requests.
• Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or damaged equipment to management.
• Deliver requested guest items such as towels, pillows, blankets, cribs, or rollaway beds in a courteous and timely manner.
• Assist with deep cleaning projects and special assignments.
• Follow all hotel safety procedures and cleanliness standards.

Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding position that requires the ability to:

• Lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Push fully loaded linen and supply carts throughout the property.
• Work safely while using cleaning equipment and chemicals.
