Parkwest Casino is seeking a Housekeeping- Assistant Shift Lead to support the Shift Supervisor by planning, organizing, and directing activities across the Housekeeping Department. This is a working supervisor role with weekend requirements.

You will lead by example, coordinating tasks, training staff, and adjusting schedules for events to maintain a clean, safe, and inviting environment for guests and team members in a 24/7 facility.

Overview

Parkwest Bicycle Casino is seeking for a Housekeeping- Assistant Shift Lead to assist the Shift Supervisor with the coordination of the assigned shift by planning, organizing, directing, and controlling all activities within the Housekeeping Department when needed. This position will require you to work weekends. supervisor position; This job is a working supervisor on-duty where tasks are done personally or through subordinates.

Responsibilities

• In the absence of the Shift Supervisor, will conduct briefings and coordinate the overall duties of daily cleanliness throughout the facility to include but not limited to cleaning meeting and event rooms, lobbies, lounges, corridors, stair ways, hallways, office, restrooms and outside areas.
• Assign and inspect daily tasks and responsibilities to housekeeping staff in a fair manner and performs duties when needed to.
• Train new employees and provide ongoing training to existing staff.
• May adjust schedules as needed to accommodate special events or high occupancy periods.
• Reports deficiencies and/or employee performance to the Operations Supervisor of Housekeeping.
• Maintain and cleans Casino areas, gambling areas, offices, Event Center, lobbies, lounges, corridors, elevators, stairways, hallways and locker rooms.
• Service, clean and supply restrooms.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum, wax, and polish floor and straightens areas around the casino. This includes cleaning ash trays in the smoking area.
• Brush gaming tables daily and removes gum from the floor, tables and chairs.
• Assists in set-up and break down of special events and tournaments as needed.
• Removes broken chairs from the floor for repair and takes to the Facilities location.
• Moves furniture, hangs drapes, and rolls carpets. May assist in moving gaming tables and chairs.
• Dusts furniture, washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, medal fixtures, and brass.
• Cleans and/or washes windows, glass partitions, mirrors and door panels.
• Empties wastebaskets, empties and clean ashtrays, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas which includes the Smoking areas. Transports trash and waste to disposal area. Replenishes bathroom supplies.
• Clears and straightens areas around gaming tables.
• Maintain and ensure cleaning products are in stock and maintained.
• Maintaining accurate records and reports related to housekeeping activities.
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass mandatory screening including a background check, drug test and credit check.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Able to deal effectively and interact well with customers and co-workers.
• Must be available to work overtime when necessary.
• Must be available to work all given shifts in a 24/7 industry when necessary.
• Able to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
• Available for full time work which may include weekends and evening scheduling; and ready for all programs and activities. Able to work varied shifts and flexible schedules.
• Able to communicate clearly with team members.
• Requires strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task effectively.
• Able to work independently
• Able to work within a team environment.
• Bi-lingual a plus.

Education: High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).

Experience: Prior experience in Housekeeping/Janitorial environment. A minimum of 1-2 year’ experience in previous Lead role and/or combination of education and experience. Bi-lingual a plus.

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to work in smoking environment.
