Job summary

Lafayette Hotels, including the Sparhawk Oceanfront Resort in Ogunquit, Maine, is seeking friendly housekeepers to join our team. You will help keep guest rooms and common areas clean, ensuring a great first impression for guests.

Responsibilities include cleaning, restocking supplies, and responding to guest requests with a smile. Prior cleaning experience is helpful, but not required; weekend shifts may be needed in the busy season.

Qualifications

• Punctual and consistently available to work scheduled shifts.
• Regular lifting up to 25lbs and frequent lifting of small objects up to 10lbs.
• Ability to stand/walk for 8+ hours and bend/crouch as needed.
• Strong customer service and basic English comprehension.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning tasks: vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing bathrooms, mopping floors, changing linens, making beds.
• Ensure guest rooms are spotlessly clean on arrival and maintained daily.
• Restock in-room guest supplies.
• Respond to guest requests quickly with a friendly attitude.
• Maintain a steady pace and meet daily cleaning targets.
• Report room issues to front desk and maintenance for timely fixes.
• Provide team support to reach common goals.

Job Summary

Our housekeeping team is responsible for the cleanliness of our hotel. As a housekeeper, your primary focus will be the cleanliness and presentation of our hotel guest rooms and common areas. Our housekeeping team's goal is to make a great first impression to our guests with a freshly cleaned and prepared guest room.

Daily Duties

• Perform general cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing bathrooms, mopping floors, changing linens and making beds
• Ensure guest room is spotlessly clean upon arrival
• Restock in room guest supplies
• Respond to guest requests quickly with a smile :)
• Maintain good pace and meet the daily expected number of rooms cleaned
• Report room issues to front desk and maintenance departments so they can be fixed
• Provide support to the team to achieve common goals

Requirements & Qualifications

• Punctual: consistently available to work scheduled shifts
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong customer service
• Previous cleaning experience is advantageous, but not required
• Regular lifting/carrying up to 25lbs and frequent lifting of small objects weighing less than 10 pounds frequently
• Ability to stand and walk for up 8+ hours
• Regular bending & crouching
• Regular pushing of carts up to 50lbs
• Ability to see clearly with or without corrective wear
• Have a basic comprehension of spoken and written English
• Some weekend availability, when we are busiest, is generally required in the hospitality industry
