Whiting Gardens Rehab Center in Ocean County, New Jersey is seeking a full-time Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe environment for residents and staff.

The position involves cleaning patient areas, corridors, rooms, and common spaces, handling waste disposal, stocking supplies, and assisting with snow removal in inclement weather. This on-site role requires reliability and physical stamina.

Responsibilities

• Receives instructions as to area and specific work assignments, prepares cleaning supplies and equipment for transport to the designated area.
• Sweeps, mops and washes floors.
• Washes walls, trims, ceilings and inside windows by hand with cleaning solutions, sponge and cloths.
• Disposes of trash, washes wastebaskets and large refuse containers.
• Cleans and changes mattresses.
• Cleans doors and door frames.
• Cleans elevator doors, walls and trim.
• Cleans air outlets and grilles.
• Vacuuming rugs and spot cleaning as needed.
• Dusts desks, tables, chairs, shelves, cabinets, sills and ledges.
• Cleans toilets, urinals, mirrors, dusts and waxes handrails and woodwork; cleans sinks and fixtures.
• Cleans and disinfects beds, wheelchairs, and similar items.
• Cleans louver drapes.
• Sweeps, mops and waxes floors; polishes floors with a buffing machine.
• Moves furniture to facilitate cleaning.
• Cleans lighting fixtures and high areas using a ladder when necessary.
• In inclement weather, shovels snow and clears sidewalks for the next shift.
• Replenishes supplies as needed.
• Performs all related work as assigned.

Job description

Whiting Gardens Rehab Center a premier skilled nursing facility located in Ocean County, is looking to hire full-time Housekeepers. Our Housekeepers clean and service the building areas, performing a variety of routine housekeeping and cleaning duties.

Hours

This position is a full time position requiring working every other work-end.

Responsibilities include the following:

• Receives instructions as to area and specific work assignments, assembles necessary cleaning supplies and equipment for transporting to the designated area. Follow work flow of assigned area
• Sweeps, mops and wet washes floors.
• Washes walls and trims, ceilings and inside windows by hand; using water, cleaning solutions, sponge and cloths.
• Gathers and disposes of trash; washes wastebaskets and large refuse containers.
• Clean and change mattresses.
• Wash doors and door frames.
• Wash elevator doors, walls and trim.
• Clean air outlet and return grilles.
• Vacuum rugs and spot clean where necessary.
• Dust desks, tables, chairs, shelves, cabinets, sills, ledges, etc.
• Clean toilets, urinals and mirrors, dust and wax handrails and other woodwork. Wash sinks and other plumbing fixtures.
• Clean and disinfect beds, wheelchairs, commodes, etc.
• Clean louver drapes.
• Sweep, mop and wax as necessary; polishes floors using buffing machine.
• Move furniture to clean rooms and areas.
• Clean lighting fixtures, tops of windows, door frames and other high places using a ladder when necessary.
• In case of inclement weather, the housekeeper is responsible for the shoveling of snow, clearing sidewalks to make entering more accessible for the next shift.
• Replenish supplies as needed.
• perform all related work as assigned.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, sit, talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to Fifty (50) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
