Job summary

Fishkill Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Williamsville, NY is hiring full and part-time housekeepers to clean and service the facility, performing routine housekeeping duties across the building.

Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, washing walls and windows, disposing of trash, cleaning mattresses and bathrooms, dusting, moving furniture, and replenishing supplies; keep high touch areas sanitized and report maintenance needs.

Qualifications

• Any equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience which has provided the knowledge skills and abilities which enable the performance of the duties listed above.

• Move furniture to access areas and clean high places with ladder.
• Shovel snow and clear sidewalks in inclement weather.
• Replenish supplies and perform related tasks.

Fishkill Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, a skilled nursing facility located in Dutchess County, New York, is looking to hire full and part time Housekeepers. Our Housekeepers clean and service the building areas, performing a variety of routine housekeeping and cleaning duties.

Responsibilities include the following:

• Receives instructions as to area and specific work assignments, assembles necessary cleaning supplies and equipment for transporting to the designated area. Follow work flow of assigned area
• Sweeps, mops and wet washes floors.
• Washes walls and trims, ceilings and inside windows by hand; using water, cleaning solutions, sponge and cloths.
• Gathers and disposes of trash; washes wastebaskets and large refuse containers.
• Clean and change mattresses.
• Wash doors and door frames.
• Wash elevator doors, walls and trim.
• Clean air outlet and return grilles.
• Vacuum rugs and spot clean where necessary.
• Dust desks, tables, chairs, shelves, cabinets, sills, ledges, etc.
• Clean toilets, urinals and mirrors, dust and wax handrails and other woodwork. Wash sinks and other plumbing fixtures.
• Clean and disinfect beds, wheelchairs, commodes, etc.
• Clean louver drapes.
• Sweep, mop and wax as necessary; polishes floors using buffing machine.
• Move furniture to clean rooms and areas.
• Clean lighting fixtures, tops of windows, door frames and other high places using a ladder when necessary.
• In case of inclement weather, the housekeeper is responsible for the shoveling of snow, clearing sidewalks to make entering more accessible for the next shift.
• Replenish supplies as needed.
• perform all related work as assigned.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, sit, talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to Fifty (50) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
