Whiting Gardens Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a full-time Maintenance Assistant in Ocean County, New Jersey. You will perform repairs to the building and furnishings and upkeep of grounds, including lawn care and snow/ice removal.

The role requires basic plumbing, carpentry and painting skills, plus the ability to follow written and verbal instructions and operate maintenance tasks safely.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age and high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Related work experience required.
• Basic knowledge of tools and their use.
• Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record.

Whiting Gardens Rehab Center, a premier skilled nursing facilitylocated inOcean County, New Jerseyis currently seeking a full time Maintenance Assistant. The Maintenance Assistant will be responsible for ensuring resident and staff safety by being responsible for repairs to the buildings and furnishings, as well as up-keep of the grounds including lawn care and snow/ice removal.

Duties / Responsibilities

• Assists in the development and implementation of preventative maintenance procedures.
• Manages heating and plumbing systems to guarantee functionality.
• Plans and schedules repairs to the premises as needed.
• Conducts periodic quality checks on equipment and HVAC systems to ensure systems are compliant with appropriate legal and industry standards.
• Performs general maintenance tasks including landscaping, painting, and carpentry.
• Cleans and assists with upkeep of facility.
• Upkeep of grounds, including lawn care and snow ice removal.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
• Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend and crawl into awkward spaces.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
