Job summary

Whiting Gardens Rehab Center, a premier skilled nursing facility in Ocean County, New Jersey, seeks a full-time housekeeper to perform a wide range of cleaning duties across the facility. The role involves handling routine housekeeping tasks, maintaining clean and safe areas, and supporting resident comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include cleaning floors, walls, windows, mattresses, and furnishings; handling waste disposal; and assisting with snow removal and supply replenishment as needed.

• Gathers and disposes of trash; washes wastebaskets and large refuse containers.
• Cleans and changes mattresses; washes doors and door frames; cleans elevator doors and walls.
• Cleans air outlets, grilles and dusts furniture; vacuums rugs and spot cleans as needed.
• Disinfects beds, wheelchairs and other equipment; cleans louver drapes.
• Moves furniture to access rooms; cleans lighting fixtures and high places with ladder.
• Shovels snow in inclement weather and ensures sidewalks are clear for the next shift.
• Replenishes supplies; performs related work as assigned.

Job description

Whiting Gardens Rehab Center a premier skilled nursing facility located in Ocean County, is looking to hire full-time Housekeepers. Our Housekeepers clean and service the building areas, performing a variety of routine housekeeping and cleaning duties.

Hours

This position is a full time position requiring working every other work-end.

Responsibilities include the following:

• Receives instructions as to area and specific work assignments, assembles necessary cleaning supplies and equipment for transporting to the designated area. Follow work flow of assigned area
• Sweeps, mops and wet washes floors.
• Washes walls and trims, ceilings and inside windows by hand; using water, cleaning solutions, sponge and cloths.
• Gathers and disposes of trash; washes wastebaskets and large refuse containers.
• Clean and change mattresses.
• Wash doors and door frames.
• Wash elevator doors, walls and trim.
• Clean air outlet and return grilles.
• Vacuum rugs and spot clean where necessary.
• Dust desks, tables, chairs, shelves, cabinets, sills, ledges, etc.
• Clean toilets, urinals and mirrors, dust and wax handrails and other woodwork. Wash sinks and other plumbing fixtures.
• Clean and disinfect beds, wheelchairs, commodes, etc.
• Clean louver drapes.
• Sweep, mop and wax as necessary; polishes floors using buffing machine.
• Move furniture to clean rooms and areas.
• Clean lighting fixtures, tops of windows, door frames and other high places using a ladder when necessary.
• In case of inclement weather, the housekeeper is responsible for the shoveling of snow, clearing sidewalks to make entering more accessible for the next shift.
• Replenish supplies as needed.
• perform all related work as assigned.

Any equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience which has provided the knowledge skills and abilities which enable the performance of the duties listed above.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, sit, talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to Fifty (50) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
