Job summary

The Lawson Companies, Inc. is seeking a housekeeper to support maintenance staff in turnover cleanings and to maintain the cleanliness of all common areas. You will help ensure smooth transitions for turnovers while contributing to a collaborative, award-winning workplace in Virginia.

Key duties include prepping vacant apartments, janitorial tasks for common areas, and assisting maintenance as needed. The role requires a strong cleanliness aptitude, reliable attendance, and the ability to work

• Ability to read and follow chemical labels and warning signs.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with residents, peers and supervisors.

• Must be available to report during inclement weather for property clean-up.
• Ability to operate a golf cart is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Vacant apartment prep: clean turnovers including appliances, windows, floors, blinds, bathrooms, kitchens, fixtures.
• Janitorial duties: clean rental office, laundry room, pool restrooms and other common areas daily.
• Assists maintenance staff as directed by Maintenance Supervisor.

We are seeking a housekeeper to work with the maintenance staff to ensure smooth transition on turnovers and to maintain a clean and neat appearance of all common areas.

Duties/Responsibilities

1. Vacant apartment prep
   • Clean all turnovers in a timely manner, to include but not limited to appliances, windows, floors, blinds, bathrooms, kitchens, switch plates, and light fixtures
2. Janitorial
   • Clean rental office, laundry room, pool restrooms and other common areas daily
3. Other duties as assigned
   • Assist maintenance staff as directed by Maintenance Supervisor

• Be available to report to work during any inclement weather event for property clean up and emergencies

Education and Experience

• Previous housekeeping experience preferred

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS

Bending, kneeling, stretching, climbing stairs and ladders, squatting, lifting up to twenty-five (25) pounds and running and lifting over twenty-five (25) pounds occasionally
