Job Description

The room attendant works under the direction of the Executive Housekeeper and the Assistant General Manager or General Manager. Responsibilities include following a daily schedule, cleaning guest rooms properly, performing duties outside the guestrooms, ensuring guest satisfaction, and maintaining individual effectiveness.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Load carts with necessary supplies.
2. Turn off all electricity (heating or cooling set to fan or cool).
3. Strip beds in checked-out rooms, drop linens to laundry, turn off lights, and prepare rooms for new guests.
4. Clean the cart and ensure bottles are correctly labeled.
5. Make beds properly.
6. Vacuum and sweep carpets and floors.
7. Mop floors.
8. Dust, brush, polish, and vacuum furniture.
9. Clean room decorations, appliances, and surfaces.
10. Clean bathrooms and remove used amenities.
11. Inspect rooms for safety hazards and equipment functionality.
12. Check for damaged linens.
13. Report lost items, maintenance issues, or special room problems.
14. Prepare rooms for arrivals and respond to guest requests.
15. Maintain cleanliness of storage rooms and stock carts.
16. Remove linens from carts and send to laundry.
17. Record room status on work sheets.
18. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous hotel housekeeping experience preferred.
• Attention to detail.
• Customer service experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Walking and standing for long periods (about 5-6 hours).
• Pushing a vacuum cleaner.
• Bending, stooping, kneeling.
• Loading/unloading supply carts.
• Lifting mattresses and furniture.
