Job summary

Avera is seeking a dedicated cleaning staff member to maintain a clean and orderly environment across patient rooms, offices, and common areas. You will support daily cleaning tasks, stock supplies, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure smooth operations.

The role requires attention to detail, good communication, and the ability to work varied shifts including days, weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean and neat environment in designated areas (patient rooms, offices, hallways, lounges, kitchens)
• Participate in cleaning activities (dusting, washing, mopping, vacuuming, trash removal)
• Keep cleaning carts stocked with supplies
• Provide courteous service and build good relations with staff
• Manage workload and delegate tasks as needed
• Serve as a resource to staff when leadership is unavailable

A Brief Overview
Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment in assigned areas which may include, but not be limited to: patient rooms, terminals, offices, nurse's stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas. Serves as a Resource to staff members when leadership is not available.

What You Will Do

• Maintains a clean/neat environment in working area. These areas may include, but not be limited to: patient rooms, terminals, offices, nurse's stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas.
• Participates in all cleaning activities as assigned. These may include, but not be limited to dusting, washing, drying, mopping, vacuuming, moving furniture, and emptying trash.
• Keeps assigned area fully stocked with supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, etc.
• Responsible for maintaining stock on individual cleaning carts including wet and dry supplies.
• Maintain good customer relations at all times by demonstrating a good rapport and cooperative working relationship with employees, all departments, coworkers and other pertinent staff.
• Responsible for managing workload and delegating tasks as needed to other staff members.
• Maintain competency and serve as a Resource to staff members as needed.

Preferred Education, License/Certification, Or Work Experience

• High School or GED Equivalent
• Related experience and/or training
