Job summary

The Padre Hotel in Bakersfield seeks an on-site housekeeping professional to maintain our cleanliness standards and deliver an excellent guest experience. The role pays $16.90 per hour and requires flexible availability including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities include cleaning guest rooms, restocking supplies, reporting maintenance needs, and ensuring stayover service for multi-night guests. Previous housekeeping experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning/housekeeping preferred.

• Technical knowledge of cleaning supplies and maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning of guest rooms to include toilets, floors, showers, baseboards, and replacing paper products/soap.
• Proper use and storage of supplies and tools.
• May use and be accountable for equipment such as a power scrubber / washer, vacuum, toilet plunger, toilet snake, cardboard compactor, and radios.
• Ensure special requests for cleanliness, maintenance and appearance of guest rooms are met.
• Dusting all areas floor to ceiling on a regular basis.
• Report maintenance issues to the proper department or supervisor.
• Ensure stayover service is completed for multi-night stays including changing sheets, replacing used linen and towels and toiletries.
• Ensure all tiled floors are cleaned daily and carpet spaces vacuumed.
• Ensure customer experience meets or exceeds expectations; handle concerns with a positive attitude.
• Notify supervisor if items are in low inventory.
• Uphold high standards of cleanliness, safety, and conduct.
• Maintenance of all departed related equipment.

Rate of Pay: $16.90 per hour

Experience

Previous Cleaning Crew / Housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

• Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods and seasons.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities at the same time.
• Technical knowledge of maintenance equipment and cleaning supplies

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by management based upon the particular requirements of the company.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the company.

Flexible availability is required for this position (days, evenings, weekends, holidays).
