Job summary

Padre Hotel in Bakersfield is seeking a dedicated Housekeeping Supervisor to lead the housekeeping team and maintain the hotel’s high cleanliness standards. You will inspect rooms, coordinate cleaning tasks, and ensure amenities and cleanliness across all public areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in housekeeping, hospitality, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on cleaning/housekeeping experience.
• Prior experience in a hotel, resort, or hospitality environment strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in staff recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management.
• Working knowledge of proper use, storage, and safety procedures for cleaning chemicals and equipment (power scrubbers, vacuums, gas-powered blowers, etc.).
• Basic computer proficiency for maintaining schedules, records, and inventory logs.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple areas and priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional, guest-focused attitude.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 25-50 lbs for extended periods.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Direct housekeeping team to maintain cleanliness of all areas.
• Inspect guest rooms daily and ensure amenities.
• Assist with setup and takedown of outdoor common areas.
• Clean and maintain public venues and banquet rooms.
• Maintain lobby, restaurants, and storage areas.
• Use and store cleaning supplies and equipment properly.
• Report maintenance needs to supervisor.
• Ensure gym is clean and stocked with Padre water and towels.
• Maintain records of cleaning tasks and staffing.
• Plan, organize and direct team to achieve guest satisfaction.
• Assist in recruitment, scheduling and training of staff.
• Uphold high standards of cleanliness, safety, and conduct.
