Job summary

The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is accepting applications for the Housekeeper at Allerton Park and Retreat Center. This on-site position performs housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for Allerton hotel guests, with a schedule primarily 7:00am – 3:00pm and weekends required.

This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 2133 role with a starting salary of $40,000–$45,000.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Familiar with standard cleaning practices with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with staff and guests.

Responsibilities

• Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for Allerton hotel guests.
• Make beds and replace with clean linens; restock supplies in guest rooms and common areas.
• Clean restrooms and replenish supplies; dust surfaces; sweep, mop, and vacuum; wash windows.
• Respond to guest inquiries, assist with reservations, and support guest services as needed.
• Report maintenance issues or damaged items to the appropriate department.
