Job summary

Embassy Suites Portland Airport is hiring a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain guest rooms and public spaces with attention to detail and a friendly, service‑oriented approach.

This full‑time position in Portland, ME requires standing most of the shift, lifting up to 50 lbs, and availability for mornings, afternoons, weekends and holidays; benefits are included and growth opportunities exist within the hotel group.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent is required.
• Requires reading, writing and oral proficiency in English.
• Must be able to stand for long periods (90% of shift).
• Lifting up to 50 lbs and pushing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work independently and maintain a friendly, courteous demeanor.
• Shifts include mornings and afternoons; nights, weekends and holidays possible.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic housekeeping duties including changing bed linens, restocking room supplies, vacuuming, and dusting.
• Report and return any guest properties left behind.
• Report property damage to supervisor.
• Work with a team of housekeepers on each shift.
• Keep workstations and equipment clean, organized, and in good working order.
• Ensure guest rooms meet hotel standards and accommodate special guest needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job Description

We are seeking a hardworking Housekeeper to join our team at Embassy Suites Portland Airport. This is a Full position located in Portland. Maine. As a Housekeeper you will be responsible for the cleanliness of guest rooms and hotel public spaces, have a strong attention to detail, and provide exceptional customer service.

Work Performed

As a Housekeeper, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and appearance of the entire hotel to create a memorable and unique experience for our guests.

• Provide basic housekeeping duties including changing bed linens, restocking room supplies, vacuuming, and dusting
• Report and return any guest properties that were left behind
• Report cases of property damage to supervisor
• Work with a team of housekeepers on each shift
• Keep workstations and equipment clean, organized, and in good working order
• Work with other staff members to ensure that all guest rooms meet hotel standards and accommodate any special guest needs
• Performs other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent experience
• Previous housekeeping experience preferred, but not required
• Continuous standing 90% of time
• Lifting up to 50 lbs. limited
• Pushing up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to work independently
• Maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times
• Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays
• Requires reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
• Hours required: Full Time 32-40 Morning (AM);Afternoon (PM);Must be flexible;Weekends/ Holidays Eight-hour shift; scheduled days and times may vary based on need

Additional Preferred Skills/Qualities

• Previous customer facing experience preferred
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and procedures
• Strong attention to detail
• Second language is a plus
