We are seeking a friendly, customer service focused Houseperson & Driver to join our team at Embassy Suites Portland Airport. This is a Full Time position located in Portland. Maine. This position is maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the hotel and its grounds, completing daily cleaning checklists, and assisting with general housekeeping duties. Additionally, this position will provide shuttle transportation for hotel guests on an as-needed basis when the hotel requires shuttle services.

Work Performed

As a houseperson & Driver , you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and appearance of the entire hotel to create a memorable and unique experience for our guests and provide shuttle transportation for hotel guests on an as-needed basis when the hotel requires shuttle services.

• Provide basic housekeeping duties for all public spaces including vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal
• Report and return any guest properties that were left behind
• Report cases of property damage to supervisor
• Work with a team of housekeepers on each shift
• Keep workstations and equipment clean, organized, and in good working order
• Work with other staff members to ensure that all guest rooms meet hotel standards and accommodate any special guest needs
• Performs other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management
• Provide shuttle transportation for hotel guests as needed based on hotel operational requirements.
• Perform on-demand shuttle runs to and from designated locations.
• Assist guests with luggage and provide friendly and courteous customer service.
• Ensure the hotel vehicle is clean, properly maintained, and ready for use.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent experience
• Previous houseperson experience preferred, but not required
• Continuous standing 90% of time
• Lifting up to 50 lbs. limited
• Pushing up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to work independently
• Maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times
• Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays
• Requires reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
• Hours required: 32-40 hour shift Morning (AM); Afternoon (PM); Evening; Must be flexible; Weekends/ Holidays; scheduled days and times may vary based on need
• House Person is the primary position which has a daily checklist that requires cleaning. Driver is secondary position which is done on demand when hotel has shuttle runs.

Additional Preferred Skills/Qualities

• Previous customer facing experience preferred
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and procedures
• Strong attention to detail
• Second language is a plus

$20 Hourly
