Summary:

Responsible for demonstrating and promoting SRIM's core value of the Golden Rule, treating others (residents, families, and associates) in the same way we would like to be treated. Under direct supervision, providing a variety of housekeeping and laundry duties while maintaining the community in an orderly, clean, and sanitary condition.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Follow established cleaning schedule.
  2. Complete daily dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping of all common areas.
  3. Follow schedule for deep cleaning of resident rooms.
  4. Clean administrative offices as scheduled.
  5. Clean and sanitize bathrooms.
  6. Clean carpets and mop all floors upon request.
  7. Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents.
  8. Support a dignified and caring atmosphere for residents, families, visitors, and staff.
  9. Respond promptly and courteously to requests for assistance.
  10. Interact with residents showing empathy, kindness, compassion, and respect.
  11. Communicate effectively in a language each resident understands.
  12. Maintain a safe environment free of hazards.
  13. Practice good body mechanics and safe working habits.
  14. Report safety hazards immediately.
  15. Assist fellow staff when needed.
  16. Follow policies in emergency situations.
  17. Be considered essential personnel during emergencies or inclement weather.
  18. Work as a team with colleagues and management.
  19. Demonstrate a positive attitude towards work policies and procedures.
  20. Adhere to attendance policies.
  21. Participate in training and meetings.
  22. Wear appropriate attire as per dress code.
  23. Refer resident inquiries to nursing staff; refrain from discussing resident issues directly with families and visitors.
  24. Comply with HIPAA regulations.
  25. Assist nursing staff as needed.
  26. Participate in resident leisure activities.
  27. Serve and assist residents during meals.
  28. Willingly take on special projects outside regular duties.
  29. Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Language Ability

Ability to read, understand, and communicate simple instructions, memos, and correspondence. Effectively present information verbally to individuals and small groups.

Reasoning Ability

Apply common sense to carry out detailed instructions and handle standardized problems involving a few variables.

Education/Experience

High school diploma or GED, or one year related experience/training, or equivalent.

Physical Demands

Regularly stand, walk, use hands, reach, talk, and hear. Frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; occasionally climb or balance. Occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

Exposure to bloodborne pathogens occasionally. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.
