Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a full-time housekeeping associate to perform cleaning and infection-control focused duties across patient areas. The role emphasizes adherence to hand-washing, PPE, and department policies while removing regular and medical waste.

Responsibilities include daily patient room cleaning, bathrooms, and all facility surfaces, with routine floor care and periodic deep cleaning as scheduled. The job requires reliability, teamwork, and attendance at department meetings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• 2 years of housekeeping experience, ideally in education, healthcare, or business and industry.

Responsibilities

• Removes all regular and medical waste.
• Cleans and disinfects bathrooms and fixtures per guidelines.
• Cleans patient rooms daily per guidelines.
• Performs cleaning functions: dusting, disinfecting surfaces, window cleaning, mopping (dry and wet).
• Maintains all floor surfaces: vacuuming, carpet shampoo/extraction, stripping, scrubbing, refinishing, burnishing.
• Completes housekeeping projects as assigned (stairwells, elevators, doors).
• Attends monthly department meetings.
• Performs other duties aligned with job purpose.

Job description

Performs cleaning and housekeeping projects following all department and hospital policies regarding hand-washing, personal protective equipment, and other infection control practices. Removes all regular and medical waste.

Responsibilities

• Removes all regular and medical waste.
• Cleans and disinfects all bathrooms and fixtures according to departmental guidelines.
• Cleans and disinfects all patient rooms on a daily basis per departmental guidelines.
• Performs all cleaning functions as scheduled (high and low dusting, disinfecting of all surfaces, window cleaning, dry and wet mopping.)
• Maintains all floor surfaces (dry and wet mopping, vacuuming, carpet shampooing or extraction, stripping, scrubbing, refinishing, burnishing.)
• Completes all housekeeping projects as assigned (stairwells, elevators, doors)
• Attends monthly department meetings.
• Performs other duties consistent with purpose of job as directed.

Preferred

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of housekeeping experience preferred in education, healthcare, and/or business and industry.
