New Hanover House in Wilmington, NC is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to join our team and ensure cleanliness and upkeep of the facility.

You will perform cleaning, laundry, waste management, and inventory tasks while engaging with residents in a friendly, respectful manner. The role requires attention to detail, compassion, and the ability to work both independently and with a team to create a welcoming environment for our seniors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience (preferred).
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, products, and safety protocols.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning of common areas and resident rooms to maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Assist with laundry services for residents and staff as needed.
• Dispose of trash and recycling, keeping waste areas clean and organized.
• Maintain cleaning supplies and equipment; report shortages or issues.
• Follow safety and sanitation protocols to protect residents and staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Cleaning & Maintenance: Perform general cleaning duties, including vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing, and mopping common areas, resident rooms, and restrooms to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Laundry Services: Assist with washing, folding, and distributing laundry for residents and staff as needed.
• Waste Management: Dispose of trash and recycling materials properly, ensuring that waste areas are clean and organized.
• Inventory Management: Assist with maintaining and restocking cleaning supplies and equipment. Notify management of any supply shortages or equipment issues.
• Safety & Sanitation: Follow all safety and sanitation protocols to ensure a clean, hygienic, and safe environment for residents and staff.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other staff members to ensure that the facility is well-maintained and residents are comfortable.
• Resident Engagement: Engage with residents in a friendly and respectful manner, creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere.
