Job summary

Avera McKennan Hospital is seeking a dedicated housekeeper/custodian for the afternoon shift in Sioux Falls. The role involves maintaining a clean environment across patient rooms, halls, and common areas, with cross-training and computer knowledge required.

The wage is $17.50 to $21.50 per hour, with full-time hours—80 per two weeks—and every other weekend and holiday. Responsibilities include routine cleaning tasks, stocking supplies, and ensuring a positive patient and staff experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintains good customer relations with patients and staff.
• May sort, wash, and deliver linens.

A Brief Overview

Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment in assigned areas which may include, but not be limited to: patient rooms, terminals, offices, nurse's stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas.

What You Will Do

• Maintains a clean/neat environment in working area. These areas may include, but not be limited to: patient rooms, terminals, offices, nurse's stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas.
• Participates in all cleaning activities as assigned. These may include, but not be limited to: dusting, washing, drying, mopping, vacuuming, moving furniture, and emptying trash.
• Keeps assigned area fully stocked with supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, etc.
• Responsible for maintaining stock on individual cleaning carts including wet and dry supplies.
• Maintain good customer relations at all times.
• May sort, wash, and accurately deliver linens.

The individual must be able to work the hours specified. Preferred Education, License/Certification, Or Work Experience

• High School or GED Equivalent
• One to three months related experience
