Job summary

Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking a full-time Housekeeper/Custodian for the afternoon shift (3:00pm-11:30pm). Primary duties include maintaining a clean environment across patient rooms, offices, and common areas, with cross-training in operating a computer system.

The role requires basic to intermediate cleaning tasks and a focus on patient-friendly service. Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED and 1–3 months related experience; strong teamwork and reliability

Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean environment in patient rooms, terminals, offices, nurse stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchens, elevators and lobby areas.
• Performs dusting, washing, drying, mopping, vacuuming, moving furniture and emptying trash.
• Keeps assigned area stocked with supplies (paper towels, toilet paper, etc.).
• Maintains clean carts stocked with wet and dry supplies; collaborates with teammates.

These areas may include, but not be limited to: patient rooms, terminals, offices, nurse's stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas.Participates in all cleaning activities as assigned.
