Job summary

Sonida Senior Living in Saint Joseph, MO is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to help create a welcoming, safe home for residents. You will work with the Vintage Gardens team to deliver exceptional care and maintain clean living spaces.

Qualifications

• Experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or guest service is preferred but not required.
• License/certification, if applicable.
• Caring attitude and reliable attendance.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Janitorial/maintenance experience; familiarity with basic repairs.
• Experience in building safety and hazard reduction is helpful.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Monitors inventory of chemicals, supplies and equipment for housekeeping tasks.
• Familiarizes self with cleaning schedules of Residents apartments and common areas to assure completion of housekeeping tasks.
• Performs housekeeping, janitorial tasks, and minor repairs as assigned.
• Assures that other janitorial and repair requests are properly logged and monitors their completion.
• Provides laundry services as needed and/or directed.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Monitors inventory of chemicals, supplies and equipment needed for laundry and housekeeping tasks.
• Familiarizes self with cleaning schedules of Residents’ apartments and common areas to assure completion of housekeeping tasks.
• Performs housekeeping, janitorial tasks, and minor repairs as assigned.
• Assures that other janitorial and repair requests are properly logged and monitors their completion.
• Provides laundry services as needed and/or directed.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Prior experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or guest service is preferred, but not required
• Required license/certification, if applicable
• A caring attitude and reliable attendance
• High school graduate or GED preferred
• Experience in janitorial/maintenance work preferred; familiarity with techniques of minor repair and maintenance for structural, electrical, plumbing, security and heating and cooling systems required.
• Experience in building safety and hazard reduction helpful
• Must be 18 years of age or older
