Job summary

The Oshman Family Jewish Community Center (OFJCC) in Silicon Valley is hiring full-time housekeeping staff. The position offers a competitive $20/hour wage with 32 scheduled hours per week, in a vibrant non-profit environment focused on education, culture and wellness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1–2 years’ experience in a similar sized institution.
• Ability to deal with frequent interruptions.
• Ability to identify safety hazards and act accordingly.
• Ability to carry out cleaning procedures daily.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral).
• Positive, upbeat and enthusiastic about working in a non-profit environment.

Responsibilities

• Keeping our campus sparkling!
• Dusting and mopping floors
• Moving equipment and furniture for cleaning purposes
• Washing walls, windows, doors, furniture, baseboards and other items needed to maintain a clean safe environment for our visitors and staff
• Seeking out areas that require cleaning and take initiative to complete the task
• Collecting and disposing of trash/recycling
• Assisting in the laundry area
