Job summary

Bupa Hugh Green in Albany, Auckland is seeking a Casual Household Assistant to join the Household team. You will perform cleaning and laundry tasks to a high standard, ensuring residents live in a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.

Role requires flexibility to cover various shifts, including weekends and evenings. Prior housekeeping experience is preferred, with pride in delivering quality, dignified care for residents.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping experience in a similar environment is preferable.
• Demonstrate ability to work well individually and with a team.
• Flexible availability including weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient, hygienic cleaning and laundry services to a high standard.
• Follow the cleaning schedule to keep residents' rooms and public areas in order.
• Handle residents' clothing with care and return to owners.
• Operate laundry equipment as specified and report faults or stock needs.
• Manage supplies economically and adhere to safety policies.

• This is a Casual role there is no guaranteed hours.

The purpose of this job

Bupa Hugh Green located in Albany, on Auckland’s North Shore is a purpose-built facility and offers rest home, hospital, dementia, and care suites. It is known for its modern design and proximity to nature.

As part of our Household team, you will:

• Provide efficient, and hygienic cleaning and laundry services to a high standard.


• Complete all daily cleaning tasks set by the cleaning schedule, ensuring that residents’ rooms, public areas, and laundry are in perfect order.


• Ensure all care is taken with the residents' personal clothing and returned to owners.


• Operate all laundry equipment as specified.


• Report to the manager any faults, issues, or when supplies need replacement.


• Manage supplies economically, avoiding wastage.


• Adhere to Health & Safety policies, procedures, and safe chemical use and storage.


• Treat residents with respect and dignity.

What you’ll need to make it possible

• Previous housekeeping experience in a similar environment is preferable.


• Take pride in providing high quality household services that help residents live comfortably and safely.


• Show an ability to work well individually and with a team to create a smooth workflow.


• Demonstrate enthusiasm, care, and passion for making a difference in our residents’ lives while communicating well with others.


• Flexible availability for a variety of shifts throughout the week, including weekends and evenings.


• Reliable transport or travel arrangements.
