Job summary

Berkeley House Care Home in Hull is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to provide person-centred care and lead a dedicated team. You will manage day-to-day unit operations, oversee medication and care plans, and support residents with personal care needs within a friendly, well‑supported team.

Qualifications

  • Completed or working towards NVQ3 in care; support for qualification available.
  • Motivated, positive with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in the role and knowledge of rewards and challenges; passion to help residents.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day responsibility for running a unit.
  • Issuing medication, reviewing care plans and accurate record keeping.
  • Leading and managing a team of Care Assistants, including shift handovers.
  • Training and supervision of new staff members to ensure welcome and support.
  • Building relationships with residents, families and external teams (GPs, District Nurses).
  • Assisting residents with a range of personal care duties.

You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen By
  • Day‑to‑day responsibility for running a unit

Key Skills / Qualifications Needed For This Role
  • As a Clinical Lead you’ll have completed / working towards an NVQ3 in care. We’re more than happy to support you in the completion of your qualification if needed.
  • You’re motivated, positive, have great interpersonal skills, and you enjoy working in a close‑knit team. Your clinical expertise is crucial in helping with CQC responsibilities.
  • You have previous experience of the role and knowledge of its rewards and challenges. Just as importantly, you also have a passion for making a real difference to people’s lives, giving them the kindness, personalised support and dignity they need.
