Job summary

El Dorado Springs Behavioral Health, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks a House Supervisor (RN) to lead the nursing team in our Tucson behavioral health facility. This full-time role covers day shifts with a 3x12 schedule (7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.) and some weekend shifts, focusing on safe patient care and staffing oversight.

Ideal candidates hold an active RN license and an associate degree, with psychiatric care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current state RN license.
• Associate degree from an accredited nursing program.
• 21 years of age or older.
• Experience in psychiatric healthcare preferred.
• CPR and de-escalation certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Manage scheduling and staffing for the nursing department, ensure coverage and minimize overtime.
• Monitor staff attendance and assist payroll with the Director of Nursing.
• Provide backup nursing and intake assistance and advocate for patients.
• Supervise hospital operations when leadership isn’t present and coach staff.
• Conduct staff evaluations and deliver disciplinary actions professionally.
• Assist Director of Nursing in department meetings and document attendance.
• Provide support to the intake department as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of regulatory standards and ensure compliance.
• Perform conflict resolution and involve leadership when needed.
• Conduct investigations and provide accurate reports.

How You'll Contribute

A House Supervisor (RN) who excels in this role:

• Manage scheduling and staffing for the nursing department, ensure coverage, minimize overtime and agency use, and approve or deny time‑off requests.
• Monitor staff attendance, maintain records of tardiness and absences, and assist the Director of Nursing with payroll.
• Provide backup nursing and intake assistance, respond to patient needs, and advocate for patients.
• Supervise hospital operations when administration is not present, oversee staff performance, and provide coaching and education as needed.
• Conduct staff evaluations and deliver disciplinary actions professionally and promptly.
• Assist the Director of Nursing in conducting department meetings, document attendance, and prepare meeting minutes.
• Provide support to the intake department as necessary.
• Maintain knowledge of regulatory standards (TJC, Medicaid, state and federal laws) and ensure compliance.
• Perform conflict resolution and mediation with staff, involving appropriate leadership when necessary.
• Conduct thorough investigations, collect and document accurate information, and provide reports to appropriate parties.
• Demonstrate comprehensive nursing skills including assessments, treatment planning, admission and discharge procedures, medication administration, and delivery of direct patient care as needed.
• Ensure documentation is timely, accurate, and complete and deliver quality nursing care to achieve treatment plan goals.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current state RN license, Associates degree from an accredited nursing school. Other requirements include:

• 21 years of age or older
• Experience in a psychiatric health‑care facility with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, or geriatric patients preferred;
• experience in patient assessment, family motivation, treatment planning, and communication with external review organizations.
• CPR and de‑escalation certification required within 30 days of hire.
