Hours:

Full-Time position – 40 hours per week

General statement of duties:

The House Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the staff in the house, regulatory compliance, supervision, investigations, and interviews. The House Supervisor attends assigned weekly team meetings with the House Supervisors in overseeing daily routines, program implementation, and establishing a therapeutic milieu. The House Supervisors assist the Program Manager to manage the workforce based on organizational goals, budget considerations, and staffing needs. This position ensures that employees are appropriately recruited, selected, appraised, and rewarded; takes action to address performance problems. They supervise Shift Coordinators, Youth Care Workers, participate in the 24 Hour On-Call Rotation, and serve as direct care staff in the event of emergency or insufficient coverage.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Promotes the Mission and Philosophy of Holy Family Institute

  • Maintains oversight of the residential staff to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accountability of staff, and quality outcomes related to care of the minors

  • Interviews, hires, and trains the residential staff

  • Assists with staff schedules to ensure coverage; working with the Program Manager to address attendance concerns

  • Ensures completion and accuracy of all residential documentation using an electronic record system. Work with various departments such as Records to ensure accuracy and completion of documents is done within required timeframes

  • Submits and manages requisitions for inventory, house, and food

  • Participates in investigations for personnel and children including requesting camera footage

  • Completes timekeeping duties for direct staff including approving timesheets, time off requests, etc.

  • Leads House and Community Meetings of their assigned unit

  • Conducts individual supervision with direct staff including providing coaching and corrective actions, performance improvement plans, and performance evaluations

  • Submits and tracks maintenance requests

  • Participates in all required agency and regulatory training within expected timeframes

  • Works collaboratively with staff, minors, families, service providers, and others

  • Promptly reports civil or criminal convictions, charges, arrests, investigations, or adjudications that may arise since staff member’s last background investigation. This includes but is not limited to sexual abuse in a prison, jail, holding facility, community confinement facility, juvenile facility, other institution (as defined in 42 U.S.C. 1997), or care provider facility; conviction of engaging or attempting to engage in sexual activity facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force, or coercion, or if the victim did not consent or was unable to consent or refuse; or who was civilly or administratively adjudicated to have engaged in such activity

  • Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor


Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in human service field preferred

  • At least 3 years of experience working with children required; residential or human services preferred

  • Previous supervisory experience required. Supervisor experience in residential care strongly preferred.

  • Must have or be able to obtain Act 33/34 and FBI clearances and valid PA driver’s license

  • Must be able to drive a van or car

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
