Qualifications

• Bilingual ability is preferred.
• Understanding of medical issues and substance abuse knowledge is valued.

Responsibilities

• Monitor safety and security of the Hope Has a Home Medical Respite Program.
• Respond to crises and de-escalate conflicts.
• Maintain confidentiality of agency and resident information.
• Record resident headcount, chores, incidents and activities.
• Conduct periodic safety checks and fire/safety compliance drills.
• Answer phones and respond to voicemails during shifts.
• Assist with daily operations and ensure program rules are followed.

JOB SUMMARYThe House Monitors are responsible for monitoring the safety and security of Phase 1 or Phase 2 Hope Has a Home Medical Respite Program at Volunteers of America. Assist with the day to day operations and monitoring both the clients, internal environment and surrounding grounds. The House Monitor reports to the Sr. Program Director and is a key member of the Medical Respite Multi-disciplinary treatment Team. The role of the House Monitors is to oversee the daily operations of the house and all the residents ensuring the programmatic structure is being followed. Overall, The House Monitor will support the staff.RESPONSIBILITIES:Appropriately respond to any crisis, emergency or trauma which occursDe-escalating potential resident conflicts.Ability to maintain confidentiality of all agency and resident information.Monitor completion of resident chores and programmatic structure.Conduct a residential headcount/bed check a minimum of three times per shift.Maintain food and supply inventory.Sign in and out residents and guests, and periodic walk through of building toaccount for all building occupantsPeriodic inspection of resident rooms for tidiness or presence of contrabandCommunication with staff related to residents adherence to programrules and expectations.Routine inspections for purposes of fire and safety codecompliances and other safety violations; running safety drillsResponsibility for answering the phones while on duty, responding to any voicemail messages left on house phone during shift.Maintain log of all incidents and pertinent activities and noteworthy house/resident itemsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:The physical requirements described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job.
