About Our Family

We’re a busy, warm, and close-knit household with two young children and a whole lot of love and laughter under our roof. Both parents have demanding careers, and one often works from home, balancing calls and meetings and being in and out throughout the day. While we feel fortunate for the life we’ve built, we’ve found ourselves squarely in “survival mode,” keeping up with the daily list but missing out on the things that recharge us, like exercise, reading, and sitting down to a real dinner together.

We're looking for someone who can take the behind the scenes weight off our shoulders, so we can actually be present with our kids in the evenings.

Our home is energetic and kid-filled. We love to laugh, joke around, and play, and we’re looking for someone who enjoys that kind of environment. We value honest communication and are still learning what it looks like to ask for help. We’re excited to find someone we can rely on, build trust with, and hopefully have as a consistent part of our household for years to come.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

You’re friendly, proactive, and self-assured, with a sense of pride in keeping a household running smoothly. You’re warm and capable around young children, including a baby, and comfortable stepping in when needed.

You're the kind of person who notices what needs to be done and does it without being asked. You give direct, complete answers and don't need to be pulled for information. You're receptive to feedback and welcome guidance on how a family likes things done. You don't take yourself too seriously, but you take your work seriously.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a home that values inclusivity, evidence-based decision-making, and respect for people of all backgrounds and identities. Most importantly, you understand that being trusted in someone's home, especially around young children, is something you earn and respect.

Key Responsibilities

Meal Support

  • Manage the family’s meal subscriptions (HelloFresh, Splendid Spoon, Little Spoon), including selecting meals based on family preferences, receiving and putting away deliveries, and preparing dinners ahead of the family’s 6:00 PM mealtime
  • Prepare simple, separate meals for the children as needed (e.g., chicken nuggets, yogurt, and other kid-friendly options)
  • Manage grocery pickup and keep household staples reliably stocked, including fruit, dairy, snacks, and other essentials
  • Keep the kitchen clean and refreshed following meal prep

Household Organization & Maintenance

  • Daily resets and light tidying: dishes, surfaces, high-traffic vacuuming
  • Prepare the home for the cleaning crew’s biweekly visits
  • Oversee organizational projects as needed (children’s toy, gear, storage areas)
  • Occasional refresh projects and targeted deep cleaning, such as refrigerator organization, oven cleaning, and baseboards
  • Replace batteries, light bulbs, smoke detectors, and household filters (water, air, HVAC)

Laundry & Linens

  • Wash, fold, and organize family laundry on a daily or near-daily basis to keep up with the needs of an active family
  • Light ironing/steaming
  • Rotate bedding and towels
  • Maintain a tidy, organized, and well-stocked laundry area

Inventory & Errands

  • Manage household supply lists and place orders as needed
  • Manage household subscriptions, including receiving and putting away deliveries
  • Handle package intake, including breaking down boxes and moving cardboard to the garage
  • Coordinating recycling drop-offs, returns, gift shopping, donation runs, and other miscellaneous household errands as needed

Vendor & Property Oversight

  • Oversee and coordinate scheduled visits from cleaners, landscapers, contractors, and other household vendors
  • Research repair needs, obtain quotes, and coordinate services as needed
  • Maintain and tidy the patio area, including organizing children’s outdoor toys and items

Vehicle Upkeep

  • Fuel, clean, and organize the family vehicle as needed
  • Schedule routine maintenance appointments

Family Support

  • Provide occasional babysitting support outside of the regular schedule as needed, with timing and any additional compensation agreed upon in advance
  • Occasional childcare support only on days when daycare closes early (3:00–5:00 PM)
  • Potential for occasional school pick-ups and drop-offs
  • Help prepare children for school and activities, including backpacks, clothing, snacks, and other day-to-day essentials
  • Occasional domestic travel with the family (approximately twice per year with significant advance notice) is a plus, though not required

Administrative & Personal Assistant Support

  • Read and work from the family's shared household Google calendar
  • Support travel planning and logistics, including packing coordination
  • Coordinate appointments (medical, dental, etc.)
  • Manage event logistics as an added value, though not required
