Job summary

Palmers Home Care in Jefferson City, MO is seeking a House Manager to create and maintain a safe, therapeutic home environment for individuals served. The role includes supervision of Direct Support Professionals, on-call availability, and ensuring timely execution of ISP goals and documentation.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and prior management or I/DD experience, with strong reliability and the ability to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ideal candidate has prior management and/or extensive I/DD experience.
• Ability to pass a FamilyCare Safety Registry screening.
• Show strong work ethic, accept supervision and provide feedback.
• Reliability, punctuality, and scheduling flexibility to meet individuals’ needs.
• Interpersonal skills to engage with individuals served, staff, and community partners.
• Ability to lift over 50 lbs and sit/stand for extended periods.
• Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance if transporting individuals.

Responsibilities

• Ensure staff are trained and comfortable in their roles and maintain health and safety of each individual at all times.
• Write goals/objectives with Degreed Professional Manager and track progress.
• Attend appointments with individuals and manage scheduling and coverage.
• Submit doctor’s orders for medication changes and ensure MARs are up to date monthly.
• Collect monthly/daily data and complete required paperwork for each individual.
• Assist with payroll by ensuring accurate timekeeping and leave requests.
• Foster an environment of respect and empowerment in the home and provide corrective action when needed.
• Be on call for staff, guardians, and DPM; coordinate with nursing staff for visits and delegations.
• Oversee scheduling, shift trades, overtime with DPM approval, and ensure team collaboration.
