Job summary

Opportunities for Inclusion Inc is seeking an Assistant House Manager to balance direct care with leadership and operational duties in a residential setting. You will work with the Residential House Manager to ensure residents receive high-quality, individualized support and safety is maintained 24/7.

The role emphasizes ISP implementation, advocacy for residents, effective communication with families, and active participation in staff development while supporting daily operations and overnight

Qualifications

  • Communicate with care and support services to advocate for residents
  • Maintain communication with residents’ families as delegated by House Manager

Responsibilities

  • Share in daily household operations and manage designated areas
  • Report critical information to the House Manager
  • Implement site policies reflecting home operations
  • Provide direct care coverage, including overnight shifts
  • Participate in team feedback, support and peer evaluations
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings and professional development
  • Perform daily duties per agency policies and procedures

In this role, you will balance rewarding direct care with essential leadership and operational responsibilities. You will work closely with the Residential House Manager to ensure our household runs smoothly and, most importantly, that our residents receive the highest quality of individualized support.

Key Responsibilities
Individual Support & Advocacy
  • Implement Individual Service Plans (ISPs) and document progress accurately.
  • Continuously evaluate ISP appropriateness to best serve our residents.
  • Establish and maintain strong communication with day, social, and support services to effectively advocate for residents.
  • Communicate with residents' families as delegated by the Residential House Manager.
Household & Operational Leadership
  • Share in the daily operations of the household, managing specific areas designated by the House Manager.
  • Report critical information regarding individual and site needs to the House Manager.
  • Implement site policies that reflect the operational needs of the home.
  • Provide direct care coverage when scheduled, including awake overnight shifts.
  • Participate as an active team member, offering feedback, support, and peer evaluations.
  • Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings and professional development programs.
  • Carry out daily duties consistent with agency personnel policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Skills
Requirements:
  • A genuine interest in working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Valid Class D Driver’s License.
  • MAP Certification (Medication Administration Program).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to take full responsibility for assigned tasks.
Preferred Experience:
  • Prior experience or education of individuals with developmental disabilities is highly preferred.
