A Happy Home is hiring a full-time House Manager for our group home in Orem, UT. You'll lead the home day to day: supervise and schedule the staff team, keep the home running smoothly and in compliance, and make sure the adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities we serve receive consistent, high-quality care.
Leadership & Staff Management
- Supervise and support all direct care staff, including the Assistant House Manager and Shift Leads.
- Build and manage the staff schedule, prevent overtime, and make sure every shift is covered.
- Maintain the rotating on-call schedule for management staff.
- Lead staff meetings and training, and train new staff through shadow shifts and documentation review.
- Address workplace concerns and keep communication among staff professional.
Routine & Consistency
- Keep the home's daily routine on track, including cleaning, meals, showers, medication administration, activities, and wake/bedtime schedules.
Planning & Coordination
- Oversee monthly menus and activity calendars.
- Schedule and attend medical appointments and coordinate transportation.
- Oversee monthly personal budgets for individuals and make sure receipts are uploaded to InnovaCare.
- Serve as the main point of contact for families, support coordinators, and the pharmacy.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Make sure medications are given on time by certified staff following the Six Rights of Medication Administration, and work with the pharmacy on refills and changes.
- Keep the home ready for licensing inspections and in compliance with DSPD and Utah licensing requirements.
- Conduct and document fire and disaster drills.
- Track staff certifications (Medication Certification, CPR/First Aid, and other required training) and schedule renewals.
- Complete incident reports (IRs) and notify the appropriate people.
Documentation & Quality Assurance
- Make sure ADLs, MARs, and daily documentation are complete and accurate in InnovaCare.
- Maintain individual and medical records, including current prescriptions and standing orders.
- Make sure service plans are followed and reviewed regularly.
- Review site QA checklists monthly and complete monthly reporting for individuals in the home.
Property & Home Maintenance
- Keep the home clean, safe, and secure, and make sure chores are completed.
- Oversee daily vehicle inspections, minor maintenance, and repair requests.
Qualifications
- House management, supervisory, or lead experience in a group home, residential, or similar care setting.
- Experience as a caregiver, DSP, CNA, med tech, or similar role.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- CPR/First Aid and medication administration certification, or willingness to get certified.
- Organized, dependable, and confident leading a team.
