Job summary

Quorum Hospitality, Field Station Joshua Tree in Yucca Valley, CA, is seeking a dual-role House Attendant / Maintenance Engineer to keep guest areas pristine and the property well-maintained. You will balance housekeeping tasks with basic maintenance to ensure a safe, comfortable stay for guests.

Hourly pay ranges from $19.50 to $21.50, with full-time hours typical. The role requires flexibility on weekends/holidays and a strong team attitude.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel housekeeping, facilities or maintenance preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.
• Basic maintenance skills: plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, or HVAC.
• Trade certification or licensing is a plus.
• Flexible availability, including weekends/holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lb occasionally, 50 lb frequently, 20 lb continuously.
• Strong attention to detail and dependable team player.

Join our team as a House Attendant / Maintenance Engineer at Field Station Joshua Tree!

Are you someone who takes pride in both creating clean, welcoming spaces and keeping facilities operating at their best? We're looking for a versatile team member to join us in a unique dual-role position that combines House Attendant and Maintenance Engineer responsibilities. In this role, you'll split your time between supporting our housekeeping operation and maintaining the property, helping ensure every guest enjoys a comfortable, safe, and memorable stay.

Hourly Pay: $19.50 - $21.50

As a House Attendant / Maintenance Engineer, you'll support both the housekeeping and engineering departments based on operational needs and scheduled assignments.

• Clean and sanitize public areas, back-of-house spaces, and designated guest areas using proper tools and cleaning chemicals.
• Ensure furniture and fixtures are arranged according to property standards.
• Remove debris and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the property.
• Prepare and stock cleaning carts with required supplies and equipment.
• Safeguard assigned keys and protect guest privacy at all times.
• Assist Room Attendants by stripping rooms and preparing them for guest arrivals.
• Inspect furniture and fixtures for damage and report issues promptly.
• Support laundry, fitness center sanitation, meeting space setup, and other housekeeping-related tasks as needed.

Maintenance Engineer Responsibilities

• Respond to maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
• Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs including painting, plumbing, carpentry, and general maintenance work.
• Conduct regular property inspections and address maintenance concerns.
• Follow established safety procedures and immediately report emergencies or unusual situations.
• Respond to alarms and safety issues as required.
• Assist with pool and spa maintenance in accordance with health code requirements.
• Help maintain guest rooms, meeting spaces, equipment, furniture, and exterior areas of the property.
• Support property operations by assisting with meeting room setups and other operational needs.
• Other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous hotel housekeeping, facilities, maintenance, or related experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of proper cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.
• Basic maintenance skills in areas such as plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, or HVAC are preferred.
• Trade certification or licensing is a plus.
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds continuously.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a team-first attitude.
