Job description

Pay Scale: $24.98 per hour. This is a non‑management, part‑time position.

Responsibilities

• Follow all rules and regulations as outlined in the employee handbook.
• Report to work on time and in the assigned uniform.
• Report guest/employee complaints immediately to the Executive Housekeeper.
• Implement and ensure that proper key controls are in effect.
• Ensure that personal grooming reflects pride at all times.
• Be respectful and discreet towards guests, coworkers, and property.
• Understand and comply with all aspects of the hotel’s health, safety and fire policy.
• Ensure proper care of furniture, fixtures, and equipment within the hotel.
• Identify and report any health or safety hazard.
• Ensure guest privacy is respected and considered confidential.
• Turn in all articles left by guests to housekeeping with no exception.
• Maintain linen rooms with adequate stock of all supplies to maintain correct par level.
• Transport all clean and dirty linen to the appropriate areas.
• Deliver any special guest request items as assigned by Executive, Assistant Executive or Supervisor.
• Prepare chemicals and restock all caddies with par cleaning chemicals and supplies.
• Check all back‑of‑the‑house areas to ensure hallways and locker rooms are clean.
• Carry out other duties as may be required to ensure the hotel’s operation is properly maintained to provide total guest satisfaction.
• Shampoo carpet, clean hallways, and sweep stairwells as needed.
• Maintain hotel common areas to the standards of a 5‑star/5‑diamond hotel.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in hotel housekeeping preferred.
• Carpet cleaning experience is a strength.
• Ability to read, write, count and speak clearly.
• Ability to communicate clearly to staff, managers and guests.
• Clear understanding of par levels and why they exist.
• Must be able to kneel, bend, twist, climb stairs, walk and perform tasks of repetitive motion to successfully complete job duties.
• Must be able to reach overhead, forward, push or pull, and handle objects.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Self‑motivated individual with the ability to work unsupervised and maintain high standards while being sensitive to time deadlines.
• Must be able to work a flexible shift including holidays and weekends.
