Job Description Summary

The Housekeeping Supervisor (HS) works with the Housekeeping Manager to assist in the supervision of the housekeeping and laundry operation to ensure product quality standards are met and that optimum service is provided to hotel guests according to hotel and company business objectives. In addition to inspecting rooms and training room attendants, this position will perform cleaning duties in all areas of the hotel. The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for delivering clean rooms for occupancy that meet the brand’s time, product, and placement standards.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Deliver Sonesta Service in all guest and client interactions, managing according to Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards and fostering a passion for customer service among staff.
  2. Partner with the Housekeeping Manager to recruit, develop, manage, and monitor staff performance, including disciplinary actions and HR-related decisions.
  3. Inspect assigned suites and public areas to ensure cleanliness, repair, and guest satisfaction; advise staff on deficiencies and provide retraining as needed.
  4. Assist with training employees, ensuring they have the necessary tools and equipment.
  5. Assist with scheduling and room assignments to ensure proper coverage.
  6. Perform housekeeping duties including cleaning guest suites and public spaces to meet satisfaction and owner expectations.
  7. Manage inventory and maintain par levels for linen and supplies; monitor laundry supplies and equipment.
  8. Handle procedures for lost and found items.
  9. Promote teamwork and coordinate with other shifts and departments.
  10. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent plus two years of housekeeping experience, including supervisory training.
  2. Preferred experience in the extended stay industry.
  3. Fluent in English; additional languages are beneficial.
  4. Ability to read, write, and document tasks; basic math skills including budgeting and variances.
  5. Problem-solving, organizational, and training skills.
  6. Proficiency with Microsoft Office preferred.
  7. Physical ability to stand, bend, climb, kneel, and move about; ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  8. Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
