The University of Wyoming seeks a Research Assistant - Forage Agronomy to support forage crop research in the Department of Plant Sciences. You will provide technical and logistical support for multiple research projects conducted by the Forage Agronomy Lab.

Responsibilities include assisting with field, greenhouse, and laboratory research activities; processing plant and soil samples; and performing other related duties as assigned.

Job Title

Research Assistant - Forage Agronomy

Job Purpose

Assist with forage crop research in the Department of Plant Sciences. Provide technical and logistical support for multiple research projects conducted by the Forage Agronomy Lab.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Assist with field, greenhouse, and laboratory research activities.
• Assist with plant and soil sample processing.
• Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned.

Competencies

• Willingness to learn and use new tools and equipment for research.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with others.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work in accordance with safety regulations and protocols.
• Comfortable working in outdoor and greenhouse environments.

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a University of Wyoming degree program.
• Demonstrated strong work ethics and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently.

Desired Qualifications

Actively pursuing a degree in Plant Sciences, Botany, Range Management, or a related field.

WORK LOCATION

On-campus: This position provides vital support to campus customers, and the successful candidate must be available to work and perform essential job functions on campus, understanding our location is at 7,220 feet above sea level.
