Job summary

K-State Housing and Dining Services is hiring a full-time custodial team member to clean and sanitize residence halls and other facilities, ensuring a safe, tidy, and appealing environment for students and guests. Responsibilities include trash removal, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and restroom sanitation, with occasional hotel-style services for conferences.

This on-site role requires reliability, teamwork, and the ability to follow instructions while operating janitorial equipment.

Qualifications

• No minimum requirements.
• Some experience in cleaning or housekeeping.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to learn operation and care of janitorial equipment.
• Ability to work harmoniously and communicate effectively with others.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of cleaning and minor repair tasks including trash removal; vacuuming; dusting; mopping; washing and disinfecting surfaces and fixtures; cleaning and sanitizing restrooms.
• Provides hotel type housekeeping services for conference groups and other guests.
• Completes other duties as assigned. May attend conferences/workshops; may fill in for absent employees; may lead as a “lead” custodian.
