Job summary

HEI Hotels and Resorts is seeking an Assistant Stewarding role to assist the Stewarding Supervisor and Restaurant Outlets in cleaning and organizing Food and Beverage Outlets. The position requires lifting heavy items, operating dishwashing equipment, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness.

The role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and adherence to hotel standards, with a focus on supporting cooks and service staff during busy periods.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of service ware and how to maintain it to complement guest experience.
• Ability to push/pull service carts weighing up to 150 pounds with or without accommodation.
• Ability to transport heavy objects through a crowded room with or without accommodation.
• Ability to grasp, lift and carry or move goods on a hand cart/truck up to 200lbs with or without accommodation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt communication style for different audiences.

Responsibilities

• Promptly and carefully sort soiled ware for dish/pot washing.
• Wash ware and return to storage as designated.
• Maintain physical stamina for high activity levels.
• Keep dish machine clean and filled with water per hotel standards.
• Operate burnishing machine for proper silverware finish.
• De-tarnish and polish silver for appearance.
• Clean kettles and pots promptly so cooks can work.
• Adhere to attendance rules and be available regularly.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
