Job summary

Westin Governor Morristown is seeking a Steward/Potwasher/Warewasher to maintain cleanliness and proper storage of china, glass, and silver, and assist kitchen staff with sanitation and storage. The role emphasizes safe chemical handling, equipment care, and adherence to sanitation standards.

The position requires standing for long periods, flexibility in hours, and the ability to handle heavy loads while maintaining a courteous, service-oriented approach for guests and colleagues.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to stand during entire shift and lift heavy objects.
• Flexible hours and ability to work long shifts as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and order in all kitchen and back areas.
• Perform heavy cleaning of ovens, grills, sinks, walls, floors and refrigeration units.
• Wash pots, pans and utensils following proper sanitation procedures.
• Sweep, mop and wash floors in all F&B areas and dock.
• Return clean chinaware to storage with care to avoid breakage.
• Operate dishwashing equipment to ensure thorough cleaning and sanitation.
• Handle chemicals safely and follow proper safety procedures.
• Communicate issues to management and report faulty equipment.
• Assist with setup/breakdown of restaurant buffet and banquet operations.
